Welcome to Sowela SCCA

The Southwest Louisiana (SoWeLa) Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) appreciates your interest and support. The SCCA is a nationwide organization comprised of dozens of chapters, called regions, that cover the entire U.S.. Our region exists to promote the enjoyment of sports and high performance cars by conducting motorsports events in Southwest Louisiana.

Club Activities include:

General Membership Meetings: Held on the second Thursday of each month, except January, usually at a restaurant in Lake Charles. Social/Dinner hour starts at 7:00 pm, with the business meeting starting at 8:00 pm. Visitors are welcome.

Solo Series: Our region conducts 8 to 10 Solo events per year, usually from March through November. Events are held in the Lake Charles/Lafayette area. Most events are open to the public and there is no charge for spectating. At year end, Regional Solo Champions are crowned for all the different classes. Some members also compete in higher level events, such National level events.

Club Racing Program: SoWeLa Region has members that compete in SCCA Club Racing, which is high speed wheel-to-wheel amateur road racing. Road race tracks are located in the New Orleans, College Station, Houston and Dallas areas. Many famous professional race drivers got their start in SCCA Club Racing. Other members participate in Club Racing by volunteering as race workers, performing such important tasks as timing, scoring, safety, and flagging.

Overall, SoWeLa Region is an active and growing organization made up of a diverse group of people whose common interests are automobiles and motorsports. If active participation in motorsports in the South West Louisiana area sounds like your idea of fun, SoWeLa Region is the place for you to be!
